JOB TITLE: Mechanic

REPORTS TO: Director of Transportation

DEPARTMENT/SCHOOL: Transportation Department

WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Non-Exempt

PRIMARY PURPOSE: Perform minor repairs to ensure proper performance and safety of district vehicles. Work on
projects assigned, follow established procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must have high school diploma or equivalent; Must be able to pass state school bus driver's physical exam; Will be required to pass a drug test, as detailed in the district's policies; Must have a valid Class B-CDL, P Passenger Endorsement, and S School Bus Endorsement or the capabilities to obtain this certification; Must have a valid
Texas school bus driver certification or the capabilities to obtain this certification; Ability to diagnose mechanical problems
and perform repairs with general supervision; Ability to operate equipment and tools involved in vehicle repair; Ability to lift
heavy equipment and vehicle parts; Two years experience as mechanic.
