JOB TITLE: Paraprofessional

 

REPORTS TO: Principal and Teacher(s) Assigned

 

DEPARTMENT/SCHOOL: Assigned Campus

 

WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Nonexempt

 

PRIMARY PURPOSE: Assist teacher in the preparation and management of classroom activities and administrative requirements. Work under supervision of certified teacher and campus principal.  Able to help provide for physcial and instructional needs of students with disablities.  

 

QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; Must have 2 years (48 hours) of college or pass a local equivalency exam prior to hiring. Must have valid paraprofessional certification through SBEC; ability to work well with students and staff, including children with disabilites; ability to follow verbal and written instructions; ability to communicate effectively
