JOB TITLE: Instructional English Specialist

REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent

DEPARTMENT/SCHOOL: District Administration

WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Exempt

PRIMARY PURPOSE: Lead district efforts to increase English achievement for all student populations and facilitate the implementation of the State Standards of English. Will provide effective support to PK–12 English instruction and student learning.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree; Texas teaching certificate with an English Specialization; Minimum of (5) years recent teaching experience in English; Multiple grade level experience preferred; Evidence of success in working with adult learners and strong interpersonal skills; Evidence of successful leadership in english content at a grade level, building level or district level.  Experience with Bluebonnet prefered.
